Activities on the ranch include golf, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, volleyball, badminton, ping pong, bird-watching, snowshoeing, and backcountry skiing. The recreation area has two large barbecues, picnic tables nestled under the trees, a sand volleyball court, horse-shoe pit, and large grass field for playing ball with the entire family or just sitting in the sun while enjoying the view. Canoes and inflatable rafts are provided for hours of lakeside fun. Supervised sport clays available for an additional fee.

The Almay Ranch private 9 hole par 3 course, with views of Billy's Peak, has numerous water and sand features and offers a challenging game. No greens fees. No waiting. No one else playing.

Wildlife abounds, with deer, bears, bats, bald eagles, river otters, kingfishers, herons, Canadian geese, mallard and wood ducks, turtles, and dragonflies.

There are dozens of lakes and ponds on the property. Canoe, birdwatch, hike, or just sit in the gazebo, watch the dragonflies, and find inspiration in the solitude away from the hustle and bustle. Wintertime visits offer the beauty of pristine snow.

Little Boulder Creek runs for nearly a mile through the ranch, dropping about 600 feet along the way. Hiking along this boulder strewn creek is challenging, but rewards you with an ever-changing sequence of natural ponds and waterfalls.

Nearby activities include winery tours, horseback riding, bicycling, hunting, hiking, backpacking, and sailing or houseboating on Trinity Lake.

Restaurants & Groceries: Trinity Center and Coffee Creek have small grocery stores and a few small restaurants. Grocery, natural food, and drug stores, along with numerous restaurants, are in Weaverville, about a 45-minute drive. For an additional fee, groceries can be stocked and ready for your arrival.
